Wyboo Plantation is seven miles from the town of Manning,
the county seat of Clarendon County since 1855. Clarendon County
was named for the Earl of Clarendon, one of the Eight Lords
Proprietors of England, to whom Carolina was given as a land
grant. Clarendon County was formed in 1785 and has been prominent
in the history of our nation, producing five South Carolina
governors and many prominent people in politics, the arts and
literature, and the military.

and specialty stores. Clarendon Memorial Hospital is located
here and offers state-of-the-art medical services to the community.
Our Library is a source of pride for us, since it was built
entirely by donations from the community and not by public funds.
Every year, the county hosts the "Taste of Clarendon",
when the county's great cooks show off their skills and raise
tens of thousands of dollars for the library. This fundraiser
and the Striper Festival in the spring are the major social
events in Clarendon County; however, there are plenty of civic
groups and volunteer organizations that would love to have you
as a member. It isn't hard to make friends in our part of the
world!

Manning is two miles from Interstate 95, giving you convenient
access to the North-South travel corridor. The city of Sumter
is less than 30 minutes away and offers a wide variety of stores,
malls, entertainment and historical tours. From Wyboo Plantation,
it is only a short drive to the state capital in Columbia; to
the shopping, entertainment and golf in Myrtle Beach; or to
the historical port city of Charleston, South Carolina. Whether
